Health and Healing
This page is dedicated to biblical health and healing. Our study of the Scriptures shows that our attitudes and moral conduct have more to do with our health than our diet or health-care. Nevertheless, the Bible does mention healing coming from other sources as well: divine command, good food, herbs, essential oils, poultices, physical touch, etc. Even so, we encourage everyone suffering illness to first ask, "What is God doing in my life?" If God has a purpose, probably no treatment will work until His purpose is accomplished:
And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him” (John 9:2-3).
But the question the disciples asked was not a bad question. There are times when we suffer because of our own sins, or because of the sins of others. We should ask God to show us what those sins are, and what needs to be done about them.
Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you” (John 5:14).
This page is not intended as an exhaustive guide to all health, but the introductory page for our main biblical study and then other more specific items as we are able to add them. We do not have any medical qualifications, so if you want medical advice, please consult a medical professional. We are using our first amendment right to report what we understand to be true, and encouraging you to make responsible decisions for yourself and your family. While we do believe there are many kind, caring and skilled health practitioners today, we also believe one of the problems Jesus encountered is still with us:
Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His [Jesus'] garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped (Luke 12:43-44).
We have wanted a page like this for years, and how it is here!
This is not intended to be an exhaustive health guide, but simply references to things we discover that we believe will benefit many. We are not health experts, but we are honest. We have no financial interest in any products we mention. We accept no advertising and we will not put anything on this site simply because a financial contributor suggests it.
